Your Neighbor Is Packing Heat

90 out of 100 Americans have a gun. Are you packing? He is...

I Hope You Are Paying Attention!

The Attorney General quit (Alberto Gonzales), Bush's top aide quits (Karl Rove), Cheney's top aide quits (Scooter Libby). This is TRUTH and RIGHTS reporting the realness that is going down in Washington, D.C. United States of Assholes oh I mean Amerikkka, um, I mean Uh-Mer-Ik-Uh, as W eloquently puts it. I blame this on YOU the USA public. Y'all put him in the office for a second term. And I also blame this on all the non-voters, the "I'm not into politics" people, and the "Uh what is voting?" people. FUCK Y'all. That's right! I said it. And you can quote me on it. My votes have been invalidated for years because the rest of America is sleeping and refuses to wake the hell up. You just want to bitch about Lindsay Lohan getting her coke charges dropped. Get over it. She is white, rich, and young. So that equals freedom to do what the hell you want to do. Seriously, get over it. White chicks can get away with whateverz. But back to the topic.
The people's President has a faulty ass Cabinet. As you can see, these "leaders" of the USA are doing a terrible job and they quit. How many Presidential ad visor's can quit in one year? Why are they quitting? Do you know? Let me learn you something, and I am most likely preaching to the choir as they say, but if you are reading this you have some kind of sense of humor, and a mind capable of following the flow, hear this:

FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL ALBERTO GONZALES:
He is responsible for a majority of the post 9/11 paranoia that has you watching what you say on your cell phone. He is responsible for starting a warrant less domestic eavesdropping program. That's correct. This is the person that wants to spy on us without reason. Warrant less domestic eavesdropping. That is like Nazi stylee right there. He is also responsible for the denial of right to habeas corpus in the United States Constitution (if you don't have a copy of the Constitution, don't get mad if you don't know YOUR rights, you'll get played and that is your own ass. You can get one for free and you should have one for reals). DENIAL of the ability to challenge an unjust arrest or detention of yourself or another person. In a nutshell, after the goverment spies on you they can throw you in jail and you can't do anything about it. They (Federal Government) can spy on you without reason, and put you in jail without reason, and you can't challenge it, so you can sit in a cell for an indeterminate amount of time. HELLO! Serious shit here. This cat is on some Super Facisim tip. This is a, ahem, founding father of the USA Patriot Act, aka Welcome to the Fourth Reich.

FORMER BUSH TOP AIDE KARL ROVE:
This man is one of the main reasons that my rhymes are still relevant:
"Another War torn day in the land of Iraq, school budget crisis, Govenor plan of attack, people breaking backs trying to make that rent, landlord kick you out live in a tent"
Karl was the chairman for WHIG. What is WHIG you ask? White House Iraq Group. This was a secret group that held secret meetings prior to the conflict, my bad, "Shock and Awe campaign" aka, Bombs over Baghdad (You thought OutKast was crazy didn't you?). WHIG was created and in session 8 months prior to the war; they sat in the WHIG meetings coming up with ways to convince the American public that Saddam should be ousted and we should go and take his oil, I mean liberate Iraq. This cat was in administration energy policy meetings while at the same time holding stock in energy companies including Enron. More crooked than the K on Mark Gonzales' skateboard. Wait, it gets better. THIS IDIOT OUTED A SECRET AGENT. V. Plame. I mean talk about can't keep a secret. How can you even do something that dumb? He outed a secret agent? He told the name of a secret agent to the press. Let that sink in.

MODERN DAY BENEDICT ARNOLD, SCOOTER LIBBY:
Scooter? How can I take grown-ass man seriously with a name like that? Libby resigned his government positions after his indictment on five felony counts in the grand jury investigation into the disclosure of the then-classified identity of covert CIA operative, Valerie E. Wilson (Mrs. Joseph C. Wilson), also known as "Valerie Plame". This son-of-a-bitch got a PRESIDENTIAL PARDON! After being found guilty, instead of going to jail for 25 years and paying a fine of one million dollars, he got probation! Yo, W, what about Mike Vick? Can you commute or pardon him so he can play football in the ATL? At least Vick apologized to the people, my bad, Mike Vick isn't Paris Hilton or LL (not cool James, but Lohan). So if Vick was a white girl who was rich and white, oh did I say that again?, he'd be all to the good. Scooter Libby is a prick. He got convicted and doesn't have to go to jail. Hence the politcal cartoon at the outset of today's post.

Justice or Just-US, and by Just-US I mean rich, and white or in cahoots with the rich and white. If you aren't both rich and white you're fucked. If you are poor and white, you might as well be black, latino, or asian. I'll leave you with a quote from one of the greatest public speakers since the late and great Malcolm X.

"Every official that comes in/Cripples us leaves us maimed/Silent and tamed/And with our flesh and bones/He builds his homes"

Z. de la Rocha, WAR WITHIN A BREATH, The Battle of Los Angeles, 1999

ps How true are those words? Within a breath, Rove and Bush got their war. The above stated officials come in, do dirt, then bounce out so they can't get covicted of crimes against humanity, because out of office as private, privileged citizens they can do even more dirt. Even if they go to court, to trial, and get convicted, they don't serve the time like the rest of the people. When will the world get the message? Rage broke up, and came back, but was always telling us what was going to happen. They don't even need new songs. These words of freedom I bring to you are out of the goodness of the I and I, and I am guided and protected by the Everlasting, Eversure, King of Kings. I fear no-thing, and no-man. TRUTH and RIGHTS is exactly what it is. Nuff said. Go pray for yourself.

Jazz Is Black Music

The Negro musician is a reflection of the Negro people as a social phenomenon. His purpose ought to be to liberate America aesthetically and socially from its inhumanity. The inhumanity of the white American to the black American, as well as the inhumanity of the white American to the white American, is not basic to America and can be exorcised. I think the Negro people through the force of their struggles are the only hope of saving America, the political or cultural America.
Culturally, America is a backward country; Americans are backward. But jazz in American reality-total reality. ...Some whites seem to think they have a right to jazz. Perhaps that's true, but they should feel thankful for jazz. It has been a gift that the Negro has given, but [whites] can't accept that -there are too many problems involved with the social and historical relationship of the two peoples. It makes it difficult for them to accept jazz and the Negro as its true innovator.

BK Stand Up!!!!

Street music from the city of New York is not like other street music. Brooklyn, New York, when it comes to emcees out tha Brook, there is no shortage. With that said some cats from BK get overlooked. Not everybody can be Kweli, which is a good thing if you think about it. Skyzoo has swagger and ain't scurred of the big willy cats in this hiphop "game". I feel that, that is the essence of Rastafari, fearlessness. Go to www.mickboogie.com and download this joint for FREE today. My Element is THE BANGER on this one. You can listen to this from begining to end my friend. It's rawness and hunger is refreshing. Not many emcess can do a whole album with banger after banger, but Skyzoo did. He's got DJ Premier beats, 9th Wodnder Beats,Dilla Beats, Black Milk beats, Madlib beats, and Pete Rock beats just to name a few. He collabos with Torae, Guilty Simpson, and Sean Price as well. So it is official!

Fast Ride Sick Bank

WHAT WHAT!!!!! This is what I like to skate. This bank is harsh, this bank is fast, this bank is fun, and doesn't charge wack fees. If you are down to roll with me we can cruise. I've been served a couple of times, I can't lie. Dropping in on it is pretty gnar, gnar as well. Skate fast, have fun. Upward and Forward. JAH BLESS.

The Congolese Miner

Mill Valley Diggin' Spot R.I.P! X8, X9, X6, and X2 were with the I an I coming up on stacks and stacks of free wax. All I got to say about Mill Valley is that "these people ain't seen a brown skin man since their grandparents bought one!" Before we came there Mill Valley Ethnic population=0, while we were there Mill Valley Ethnic population=5. There was a salon next door and the ladies were happily surpised to see us, I went into the pizza shop next door super casual like, and the dudes in there were like, huh? It is 2007 and we still got places in America that aren't used to darkskin faces. But, I don't care cuz I came up on the wax and I was out! X8 keep my stack for a hot one, til I listen to them on your system.

8pm be in the house
Cell phone service stopped momentarily
University students protest
Why?: The former President Iajuddin Ahmed canceled scheduled elections, curtailed press freedoms and other civil liberties and then stepped down. Would this ever happen in America? The answer is it is happening right now! Yo the world is in the middle of a global conflict, if you didn't know. War in Africa, war in Asia, war in Europe, war in America, war in South America. Bush has been curtailing civil liberties for about 8 years now. 2008 is an election year. AMERICA DON'T FUCK UP!! Do your research and let's make history with the next election. Obama '08? We will see.

San Francisco Chronicle D3 8/23/07
Marbury's Opinion on Vick dogfighting is that what about all the sport "hunters"? Dogfighting and Hunting is one worse than the other? Dogfighting is underground and non televised and it is dog v. dog. Hunting is accepted by the mainstream and OutdoorLife Network shows it all the time, it is armed man v. animal. I am not a fan of either. And for Mike Vick's sake, I wish him the best.

Hey There Madlib...Give Us Something Funky To Listen To

The one and only Madlib brings us Vol.3 and Vol.4 of the Beat Konducta Series. 34 tracks, say what!? Yesh mon! 34 tracks on this joint, but it is only about 1 hour of listening. First off, I just want to give Madlib props on this one because of the title. Hiphop is getting so regionalized in the United States these days. Cats are all about reppin' their hood, which is cool, no problem, but we live in a global economy. Y'all remember when the term "globalization" was bein' spit by every newscaster after the turn of the century. Well this is Madlib's way of letting us know hiphop is worldwide y'all! His samples are coming striaght out of Bollywood. One of my favorite quotes from Ghostface sums this album up, "(His) G is to futuristic for y'all niggas"! By the time the masses see where he is coming from, he'll be doing Beat Konducta Vol.5 and Vol.6 Beat Konducta in the Congo, sampling Soukous guitar riffs from Kinshasa's T.P. OK Jazz Band, or on some Tshala Muana type stuff.
Beat Konducta In India is like eating dim sum, tapas, or delectable appetizers. Straight to the deliciousness. One of my favorite Indian restaurants in S.F. is Tikka Masala. When I roll there I get like 3 types of naan, chicken tikka masala, the rice, the fresh veggies, the goat dish, the yogurt sauce, na what I mean? This album is like eating at a traditional Indian restaurant. Your ears are the naan and these beats are all the different flavors you are going to dip into. So what I am saying is this is a listeners feast of sound!
One of my favorites is Indian Deli, the woodwind sample is so clean! The drums are gritty and the hats crash in all the right places. Experience shows on this whole album. When cats are stagnating trying to be what they are not. The Beat Konducta opens his mind and lets the creativity flow. Like on More Rice, the strings are epic sounding due to the simplicity of the sample. The soundpieces are expertly blended and you got to dig in the crates to come up with that kind of music. This is musicians music, ya dig? The vibe that Accordian for Raj gives is like riding on a moped thru Delhi, although I haven't been there, I seent it on T.V., a bouncing, rolling track; the sound doesn't come from one spot it surrounds. But I have to say that Piano Garden is my favorite. It has all the ingridents I love in a beat. Keys, strings, and evenly placed drum beats. The kick isn't super boom, but its got the perfect amount of bap! Overall Beat Konducta In India gets 4 out of 5 Conquering Lions on the Truth and Rights scale of I-ration! Big ups to Madlib for keeping it funky and new.
The album is to be released Aug.28, 2007

Ladies and Gentlemen, give a warm round of applause to...

Son of Ran, representing the Bay Area, the Haystack Nickel and Dime to be exact. Right now all of America is catching wind of what is now referred to as the "Hyphy Movement". As usual, the rest of America, especially the Blue States, are late. They are catching up, and while cats in Oklahoma are finally ghostriding, and the people of Wyoming are shaking their dreads, the Bay Area keeps it moving. Prime example Son of Ran's, THE SKY CITY CLASSIC.

This album sets my soul free. The SO is bringing content to the Bay and the rest of the world. His voice is clear, crisp, and poignant. After listening to the tracks you realize that this isn't a facade. He isn't about portraying a fictionalized character, or trying to be something he isn't. He has his own slang. When an emcee brings new slang/terminology into the game you know they are coming with the realness. This is genuine hip hop at its finest. Big props right? Especially coming from me, those who know me know I can only rock "that good shit". But, he came through, and came through big time. This album will most likely be re-issued and re-mastered, and re-released cuz most people are sleeping. So let me wake you up and give you the truth on a track-for-track basis. I've listened to this album over 50 times and I am going to listen to each song as I write the analysis. C'mon, its RasLoomba from the Science First! (That's S.F. for all of you slow-footed penguins out there)

1. the SO
The sample in the intro sets this whole joint off!! "I'm going awaaaaay, leaving todaaaaay, I'm gonna start my..." Then the beat drops. I feel him on this one. I love the Sunny Daze and I got madd fam out there but, when he says "I'm close to no more SoCal, what up with travelling..." he is talking my language. "Progress quicker than cats in San Dizzo" this isn't hating, its the truth. Even SD cats know what he's talking about. The majority of cats in SD are on some other shit. By other shit I mean hating. Haters are everywhere but as one who has called and still calls San Diego home, too many of y'all down there don't recognize sunshine when the rays are pointed directly at you. It is sad. Cats can't even kick it no more, shit is all cliqued out and superficial like a mug. Don't take it as a diss, cuz the trues have been down and stay down. It the cats that think Rastafari is a trend that I am aiming at. That hiphop is a fashion thing. That skating can only be done at certain spots with certain gear. That (fading out...)

2. Can I
This track is smoothness and trueness. Ask yourself "Can I be a man?" That is a damn good question. Can you appreciate the struggle? Extra dedication shout out to all the parents out there. Shit ain't sweet all the time. Son of Ran even talks about going into training to keep his game tight. Shit takes time, practice patience. "Launching astronaut 3's with a wild release". New slang for nasty looking airballs. "If it's love introduce, and let your squad meet her". Real talk. Don't hide your love, if it is real then share it. Cuz love saves lives yo. And why is it trendy to be unfaithful? Why can't we celebrate somebody else's love, instead of talk shit or downpress? How many emcees are talking about trying to grow as a person? Eh bay bay!

3. As Long as There's You
Another good opener to this joint, "As long as there's you girl, I got looooove". You can hear pain in this flow. Pain=good music. Sorry that you had to go thru it SO, but that episode in your life turned into a great track. My man embraces the struggle. Instead of acting like it's Carnival everyday, drinking champagne and getting golden grills, he talks about real life shit. I mean not everybody can rhyme about a tight car. Remember this is some Bay Area shit too. If you got your eyes open like Ran then you can easily be inspired by everday shit, like taking a trip to SF from the East Bay.

4. Brief Soul
This is my theme song!!! I find that listening to this song after 11pm enhances the authenticity of it. Don't waste your life, cuz the shit is short. Ask yourself why are you doing things you don't want to do? Each day is truly a blessing and an opportunity. Don't wait for the other kids to catch up, keep it moving. Forgiveness takes courage, and fearlessness is the way of the Rasta. "Catch us with our enemies breaking the bread after" Big Ups on this track right here. Flyness.

5. No Sunshine
Perserverence. When things get hard do you fold? Garvey told us about what happpens when your back is to the wall. Never give up, even when you are playing 21 and your down 7-20, grab that rebound! Nothing sucks worse than a quitter, and you aren't a quitter are you? "Ask cats who the most passionate cat to bless was" I like that Common sample at the end from like water for chocolate, keep on (muthafuckas move back I pursue rap at the pace of a new jack...

6. Gates to Cybertron
Yo, I be seein' Naytron when I go to Warriors games. That kid is ill. I saw a video of that cat breaking with this track in the background. I showed it to X8 and X9. We were feeling it! Drums are super nasty and gritty on this one. A throwback to some heyday style beats. Grab your backpack straps, tilt your hat to the side and let the neck rock from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock.

7. The Professor
Hip Hop comes to some people naturally. If you are cultivated in the culture from birth you can't help being a hiphop head. Hiphop heads have been headz from a young age. They've probably been ridiculed for being different. Now we, "leave your galaxy shook". Funny how that works right?

8. Interlude
I've freestyled countless times to this beat. I am not sure who produced it, it is either Freedie Jski, Supa, or DJ Pauze. So nice, sometimes I play this one first then go back to number one. Its got a nice knock to it. Next time you see me and want to get free Imma tell you to put this beat on, and I'll rock that baby to sleep.

9. the Get Up
This beat has a posse cut beat sound. I like the bboy speaking at the begining of the track. Biters, shark niggas as Ghost calls em. So bothersome! I know cats that have bitten my style so hard they try and present it to me as a new innovation. How ridiculous! Yo and on the real in UEFA Champions leauge if you tie an away game you get one more point than your opponent who played at home. Defend your turf! Cuz if I am in NYC and I battle you and get as much props how are you really gonna feel, like we tied? Nah, B.(Primetime Ichiban Specialists, don't say these words in this sequence without saying where you got it from, for reals)

10. Y'alls Truly
Can't you visualize his words on this joint? Talking about driving the 580 on the late night, me and my brother almost died like 5 times on a overnight roadtripper from Dago to the Free. Also, he talks about one of the greatest performances in modern sport. Kobe droppin 81. That is for y'all who are Kobe haters. That ninja can ball so don't hate. Good lookin' out brah.

11. Street Science
WOW. When I rock a show, this will play before I go on. Seriously. Shit is so hard that it is calm. Weird, huh? I mean you can't stop head noddin' cuz of the drums but the keys in the background are ambient. Then the lyrics...heavy. The bigger picture is put into the forefront with this one.

12. Lions Heart
This track showcases the slangscientology of Son Of Ran. My favorite line tho..."SoCali cats that like to actually front". Talk about truths and rights! Some people are frontin' and don't know no better, some front on purpose, especially for the girls. That is probably a big reaason cats in SoCal front so much. All the terisitas are scantly clad and the gatos just want to stress to impress so they digress with the rest trying to be the best. (U know I got to put my own slangeration in it). This track ends the album on a good one. He brings us back to what hop is all about, beats and rhymes.

Son of Ran's Shout Outs:
Massive Lion Roars out to Jah Congo for the support and review, keep doin it fam! Primary love out to my wifey K, I love you woman... MOST thanks to the PnoyApp Fam, E-Shock Therapy, Cypher Ops and DJ Virus, Freddie Joachim, Genom, Pauze and Supakoopa... Be on the look out for the Son Of Ran EP to drop with the mighty mighty Messangers, God's love., Out!

Now Hear This

What great timing! As soon as Rock the Bells leaves the Supa Fresh, Talib drops a new album. EARDRUM in stores today, 8/21/07. I have heard the entire album and it is FIYAH! It gets 4 out of 5 Conquering Lions on The Truths And Rights musical rating scale. Remember this is the cat that brought us the Manifesto on Lyricist Lounge Vol.1. Don't sleep on this album, with Will.I.Am, Pete Rock, Hi-Tek on some of the production. Kanye, Justin, and Jean with some collaboration work on the album as well, you can't miss this one. (check out www.talibkweli.com)

1. Everything Man
What a great opener. This reminds me of dusk in The City on the way home, before seeing your family after a hard day of work.

2. NY Weather Report
This is a track you listen to on your way to your favorite night spot, skate spot, reading spot, culture spot, or any spot where you go to in order to recieve inspiration. It sets you up for something that you are about to do. The perfect 3rd song on a mixtape, building up for something more epic.

3. Hostile Gospel Pt.1
Lyrics. When you listen to Kweli rhyme you hear the experience of a true hiphop artist. This guy is not just a rapper. He is inspiration for the people. If you want to learn some life skills as a black man, hear this. "The truth is hard to swallow"

4. Say Something
Jean Grae and Talib performed this track at Rock the Bells. For those of you who don't know Jean Grae is a prolific emcee that paints pictures with her lyrics and is a great role model for all of the sistahs in hiphop. Her and Talib could be the new Blackstar, that's my word. This track is like an "I dare you", say something and see what happens!

5. Country Cousins
UGK have been in the game long time now! Nuff respect. Slang, where does it come from? It comes from cats like these brothas. Street talk crosses the coasts and hiphop has its own language that only the heads know. Get ya learn on.

6. Holy Moly
This is self-explanatory. Turn it up!!!! Big up to Pete Rock. P.Rock is one of the greatest producers in the game, up there with DJ Primo from Gangstarr. Hear this!

7. Eat to Live
The take home lesson is this: Eat what you are going to eat. Say thanks and praises for each morsel you ingest, because there are way too many kids that are hungry. We can get Shaq to help the fat kids, but Kweli is helping the kids who wish they had too much to eat. A touching track, "A ghetto prayer".

8. In the Mood
Kweli and Kanye. These two enhance each other like great flavor pairings. Even their voices complement each other, a great track to listen to anywhere at anytime, at the beach kickin' it, on the court hoopin, with your girl at the crib. "Wow, that's a nice track!"

9. Soon the New Day
This track has Norah Jones on it. Might be one of the best Talib Kweli songs ever, straight flawlessness. Everything about is seamless and smooth. It reminds me of Eric Koston's opening line in Yeah Right, flowing, smooth, banger after banger. An extra classic!!

10. Give em Hell
Classical Kweli. More meaningful rhymes on this track. When you hear this track you will learn something. Kweli bringing back content in the game. This track belongs in ghetto youth handbooks across the globe.

11. More or Less
This track gets me lifted. Straight up, he is definately a concert track. I imagine Kweli rocking this to shut down a show, a show-stopper, and I ain't talkin' Danity Kaine. Don't be afraid to put your hands up to this one.

12. Stay Around
Another P. Rock classical production. Kweli takes criticism and turns it into motivation. Like the DGK t-shirt that says I love haters, in the model of the world famous I heart NY.

13. Hot Thing
Ringtone! This is fiyah. Keeping the album balanced you got to put tracks like this out, showing the rhyming range, Talib teams up with Will.I.Am and makes hotness that should get radioplay. This song is what you put on a mixtape for your girl. Get your dance on in the pad alone just cuz you are in love.

14. The Perfect Beat
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Straight Fiyah, eventho that is what I call the City where I rest at, this track is for the heads! A Bob Marley sample starts this one off, Same Thing (Baby you're so nice, I want to do the same thing twice, I loooooooove you, so much). KRS always conscious always bringing it. Rapture is still one of the hottest songs in hiphop history. Talib is serious with his on this one. Cats are gonna be freestyling to this track allday ereday!

15. Oh My Stars
Musiq has a great voice. I am running out of accolades. I guess I can only listen to hot tracks. Wack has no place on this blog. Kweli the father.

16. Listen
All I got to say is that, he is right. Cats don't listen. Little Brother tried to tell y'all the same thing. I mean if you listen to hiphop lyrics these days, the shit sounds ignorant. If you put the words down on a page and read them, what are they saying? This is why I'm hot, Eh Bay Bay? Most cats in hiphop are at the 3rd grade reading level. Are you smarter than a 5th grader? I hope so. Listen up. LISSTTENNN!!

17. Go with Us
This was also performed at Rock the Bells. Collabo track. Bang this before you go big, or on your way to the night spot in the parking lot, just bang it really loud. Cats will ask, "who dat?" Tell em Strong Arm Steady and Talib, nigguh!

18. Hostel Gospel Pt.2
A continuation of the first part of the track. Learn something y'all. For real tho! This one has a Steel Pusle sample on it, Tightrope, "Deliver me oh my Father, from the Downpressor, set me free! Got me walkin', walkin' on a tightrope..."

19. The Nature
Justin Timberlake?! Yesh mon! J.T. stepped his ish up since he pulled Janet's titty out at the superbowl. This one is for BET and MTV to get some TRL love. Kweli hitting every demographic and avenue to put his realness out. Take lessons. It's bigger than...

So there it is. A complete album review. Look for more of these in the futre, of old classics and new joints too. This is Truths And Rights. RESPECT!

Rock The City 2007

Like a sword forged in the hot fire, I come to you on this day, strong and sharp, forever ready for battle. Here are some memorable quotes from the stage.

"When ignorace reigns, life is lost!" Z. de la Rocha

"Yo, it's like fity thousand b." Raekwon
"Oh, y'all don't give a fuck?" Ghostface
"Put ya W's up!" Wu Tang Clan

"Good evening we are Rage Against the Machine from Los Angeles California" Ratm
"Did Rage play yet?" Some asshole kid at 2pm
"Shakey, shakey" Mos Def
"Eh Bay Bay" Talib
"You are now rocking with the best" Black Thought
"Dis ain't no Hurricane Chris, ain't no two steppin' on this stage" E. Sermon
"Put ya O's up!" Hieroglyphics
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH BOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYY!" Flavor Flav
"Fight the power, fight the power!" Chuck D

Hands down this was the best Hip Hop show ever. The realness at its finest. Truthfully, if you missed this, you fucked up. Seriously. Go to www.rockthebells.net and see who played. Ask yourself, why you didn't go. And all of my souljahs who were there, y'all know what it is. This was the best show. Rage Against the Machine is the greatest live act in the history of music. If you haven't seen Rage play live you will never know what a mosh pit is, the glorious noise as my comrade calls it. I've been down with each and every act that have played this tour since 1993. So this was the culmination of my concert going life, never again will anything have this much relevance to my generation of hiphop heads. Big up to GUERILLA UNION for putting on this unprecedented event.

The Listening

This is lthe location where the best listening is done. After hooking up new beats, the night train is the best place to do the listening. An empty train is even better. There is somthing about iron horse riding that makes your hiphop or roots sound more street or more roots.

Getting Digi With It

Tripod! How did I end up with 3 ipods? Each one is different. Got the video ipod, the nano ipod, and the shuffle ipod. The video ipod is all me. The nano is Spanish Harlem's, he wanted to be bootleg and put all my fresh beats on his. The mini shuffle joint is P. Seed's. She got that as a gift from work. It usually just sits in her apartment, but I borrow it a lot and put hot new joints on that. I collect music like I collect kicks. Right now I am putting on 4 new Mikey Dread Mixes, courtesy of Beats, good looking out bro! You know I made you some cds for the whip! I got Mikey Dread mixes, Funkmaster Flex mixes, the new Common, and Ghostface Supreme Clientele instrumentals. Also Evil Empire is in full effect. Keep it positive!

Calm before the Storm

Counting down until the "Woodstock" of our hiphop generation. Rock the Bells in San Francisco is coming up very very soon. Beats is about to make a Bay Area appearance, so you know it is about to go down. Many a souljah will be in the Super Foggy via the Sunny Days, should be a good weekend. I don't know if the Supa Fresh is ready for the Sucka Free type business. Stand Firm if you're ready!
