This is a classic from 1980, two years prior to my creation. Roots! This is one of the best albums I've heard in years. The first album on Truths And Rights to get the full 5 out of 5 Conquering Lions! It is beyond any description that I can provide for you. This is pure roots reggae at its finest and during the heights of popularity. Mikey Dread, truly one of reggae's great talents. For those of you who don't know Mikey Dread was on JBC in Jamaica and started the radio program Dread At The Controls, a program that consisted of nothing but reggae music. He also produced and toured with the Clash.

This is the music that spawned hip hop. Remember DJ Kool Herc was Jamaican and you know where the sound system knocking in the streets originated, yesh mon down dere in Kingston, Jamaica. Go to www.mikeydread.com and cop that! ROOTS ROCK TRUTH AND RIGHTS!

FORZA JUVE!

taken from www.juventus.com

Juventus celebrated their 110th birthday a few hours early and in style. They beat Empoli at home at the Olimpico thanks to an excellent second half performance. The hero of the night was David Trezeguet, who scored another hat trick (after the one against Livorno), became current League top scorer and also reached 150 goals for Juventus. Del Piero celebrated too: the captain came on in the second half, reaching 528 games and equalling Furino in second place for all-time record of games played at Juventus. Empoli were unlucky, ending the game down to nine men, due to Balli and Volpato's injuries. Ranieri's men remain four points behind Inter Milan, the team they'll face Sunday at the Olimpico.

The Local Tourist

San Francisco is a great place to live. As a resident sometimes you take for granted all the beauty that surrounds you. These are the famous painted ladies across from Almo Square Park (Gaby what up!). The day was foggy and crisp, just like a perfect S.F. day. You had to rock a hoodie today for sure. Some cities just don't have things like this, so I took advantage of being alive and went to see the ladies. Full House used to show these ones all the time DJ Tanner and them was supposed to be up in one of these.

My House Is A Gallery

I have art all over my home. I love it and don't take it for granted. The art of T. Estess will be shown over several postings. Enjoy!

Glory, Glory

Nothing But The Truth

Okay, I know it takes A LOT of hard work to make a skateboarding viedo. I mean tons of hours and lots of skateboarding, BUT if you have Nike as your primary sponsor, the people are going to expect something HUGE. I got to the Victorian at 6:30 actually hoping to bypass the movie house to go to a skatespot of mine in the Mission. Little did I know that there'd be a line already. I figured I might as well wait because I know I am not the only skater that wants to watch this flick. So, as time goes on the line gets bigger and bigger. It turns out that I made a wise decision to come early. The tickets were free but it was first come first serve.
There was WAY too much non-skating in this flick. I mean I've heard of skits and stuff but some of the stuff was just dumb. This is all my opinion by the way, and who am I in the skate industry?, nobody, exactly. I will let you know it wasn't worth the wait in line, and I won't buy it when it comes out. Chet, Wieger, and Omar saved this flick. BA, Supa, Stefan, and P. Rod, they left me a bit, no, really disappointed. You'd think that the first Nike SB video would be on some epic change the game type stuff but it was not. Trust me, I've seen many-a-skateboard flick! Videos like "It's Official" and "Baker 3" were WAY better than this one. With an almost unlimited budget and no pressure from anybody to put out a video, this weakened the juggernaut. On the name alone, Nike SB, kills competition in the shoe department. They've got some stylish stuff, no doubt, but this movie was a disappointment. It was too long for a skate video. Skate videos are supposed to make you want to go out and skate, but I heard everybody talking about, "Let's go drink!". If that is the sentiment of the crowd after seeing your skate vid, I'd say you did a poor job. Phelps was in the crowd and was on some Phelper shit. Saying random but poignant shit like:
"Never forget New Orleans!"
"Lakai video! Fully flared!"
"Yeah Phelper!"
The S.F. who's who of skate was in the house but I am not going to name drop or fan out. I was sad not to see Karl but, I guess he'd already heard that the video was, "eh". Go and see it for yourself and you be the judge but, if you ask me, the shit was a bit weak. I could've got the shit off of youtube a year later for free and not wait in-line and leave my hottie ass girlfriend at her apartment alone, or I could've just skated the spot I wanted to and had a better night.

TRUTHS and RIGHTS gives "Nothing But The Truth" a weak 2 Conquering Lions. So, when your homeboy gets all hyphy about he just picked up the new Nike SB video tell 'em to burn you a copy cuz that shit ain't worth the $28.99 you know they will charge.

PEACE!

Who Doesn't Like Clean Rims?

Tell me, who doesn't like clean rims? Everytime that I wash the car my lady is so excited. She gives me hugs and kisses and tells me that I am the greatest. What an ego booster. But, that is what dudes do. Wash the whip and make the rims look clean.
Yes, all of these photos are in natural light. San Francisco light. Foggy as hell but the shit is still blingin'!
Some people may think that it is lame to take pictures of a car, but this car and I are friends. We have history together. Unfortunately, I wrecked the shit out of this car. I was driving it, and I got blasted by a Benz. The dude was a complete tool acting like I was in the wrong. I wasn't injured thank GOD, but the tC was in bad shape. My girl was in the Philippines when it went down and I tried to downplay the damage on some. It ain't so bad shit. It was ugly.
But, here is one of my very good friends looking rather well! We like music and taking our Queen to UC early in the morning. We like when we use ArmorAll wipes on the interior for that showroom finish.
So, as you can see we have lots in common. I talk to the tC all the time. Most of the times I am talking shit about another driver, or freestyling about my day. We talk about how we love our lady and how good she is to the both of us. Hookn' up that Costco petro and getting chicken bakes and stuff like that. So, you and your vehicle should form a good relationship and you should take care of it like it takes care of you.
I mean aren't we fighting a war because we need gas for these things? Being in S.F. where the gas prices are soooooooooooo fucked! Way too expensive. I know a girl that moved from Sacto where the gas is the cheapest, to here in the Super Foggy, where gas is the most expensive. That is some harshness. But in Uh-mer-ika, it is almost un Uh-mer-ikan to not have a car. But I take MUNI, walk, or skate. The Lady is into taking her bike to and from work, so when the tC comes out, he's got to be crispy. Ya feel me? So if you are riding on stocks and get that regular gas keep your whip clean!
I be sneaking shots of my Lady all the time. Here she is happy getting out of the whipper the other day. Lookin' preddy gewd too. Sorry I didn't tell you I was taking this but when I say, "Act natural" I get these model poses.

Soloist On A Solo List

I play basketball alone ALOT, these days. I am in the gym when everybody else is sleeping. I run suicides till my heart is about to burst. When I can get a game in I just have to win. I already hit two game winners this week alone from the outside. When I play people shorter than me and post them up, they complain about how I take easy shots. When I hit jumpers from the outside they I get told that I got no inside game. I was practicing sky hooks today just to get my old skool game up. I was working on my Timmy D glass game today too. Not to mention my left handed j's, my secret weapon (I guess it isn't a secret no more). I listen to that G UNIT mixtape cuz it remindes me of hoops in the street. That Jay Z Vol.3 and Black Album are good too. I can't forget my Black Milk mix. Why do I play ball so hard? Because it it better than drugs. Because SD is on fire and I can't do shit about it. Because the Congo is in a constant state of war. Because I waste emotions on wack people. Because I love b-ball. Because I love Kobe's game. Because Michael Jordan's fadeaway is my go to in the post. Because I am 6'3". Because it is ball or fall. Because when I hit Chula Vista Muambeats and Mondo can roll with me and beat anybody in 3-on-3. Because hip hop and basketball are things most Black Men my age got love for. I ball because I have a baby sister and somebody needs to teach her about health and well being. I ball because I can. I ball becauuse the majority of Americans are fat. I ball because if I ever make it to Saturday ballin' in Oakland I want to beat Bryant and Kai because they beat me and my brother long time ago in S.F. I ball because everytime I play a game I make sure to get at least two blocked shots. I ball because I rebound and set picks. I ball because I yell out "Pick Left!". Just ball. Nothing else matters when you are hitting jumpers, runners, lay-ups, and hooks. It is therapeutic. That shower after a good session puts me in the right mood. So, I will keep balling on the solo because I got to in order to stay sane in this crazy ass world.

Welcome To The Congo

GOMA, DR Congo (AFP) - Fierce fighting broke out Saturday in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo between local militias and rebels loyal to renegade general Laurent Nkunda, forcing thousands to flee, the UN and the Congolese army said.

Very violent attacks" were reported early Saturday, army commander Colonel Delphin Kahimbi told AFP, adding that the fighting "is between Mai Mai from Kasereka (local militia) and Nkunda's insurgents".

He said the army was not involved in the fighting around Bunagana, a town around 50 kilometres (30 miles) northeast of Goma, capital of DR Congo's Nord-Kivu province. The area has been under Nkunda's control for two months.

"Thousands of people are fleeing to Rutshuru (around 25 kilometres to the north west), terrified and completely destitute," Sylvie van den Wildenberg of the UN mission in DR Congo (MONUC) told AFP by phone from the town.

"We have seen three women who gave birth during their flight."

The arrivals said they had fled fighting between supporters of Nkunda, Mai Mai militia and the Rwandan Hutu rebels of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), said Van den Wildenberg.

"The suffering of the civilians is unacceptable. We appeal to all the militias, all the armed groups, to immediately stop all fighting," she said, adding that MONUC peacekeepers had sent a patrol to Bunagana earlier Saturday.

A spokesman for Nkunda's forces claimed they had killed 18 FDLR rebels after being attacked.

"Our positions were attacked by FDLR troops, Mai Mai and FARDC (DR Congo forces)," Major Seraphin Mirindi told AFP.

But the FDLR, whose members are accused of having taken part in the 1994 genocide of Tutsis and moderate Hutus in neighbouring Rwanda, denied being involved in any fighting with Nkunda's forces.

"No members of the FDLR have been killed in recent days. The FDLR is not involved in this fighting, neither on the side of the Mai Mai nor on the side of the Congolese army nor on anybody's side," FDLR official Callixte Mbarushimana told AFP by phone from Paris.

The eastern province of Nord-Kivu has been the site of rebellions that have plunged DR Congo into wars on two separate occasions, from 1996 to 1997 and from 1998 to 2003.

Since August, it has been the site of periodic clashes between the Congolese army and an estimated 5,000 troops loyal to Nkunda, a Tutsi former general who presents himself as a defender of local minorities against the army.

He has claimed that the Congolese army is backed both by the Mai Mai and the FDLR, which has some 6,000 fighters, according to UN estimates. The Congolese army has consistently denied fighting alongside the FDLR.

Kinshasa has sent 20,000 troops to Nord-Kivu and has repeatedly called on Nkunda to demobilise his troops.

Van den Wildenberg said the new clashes showed that "ethnic tensions are taking on serious dimensions in the region," where she said both the Nkunda and Mai Mai forces were accused of forcibly recruiting child soldiers.

Each new outbreak of violence increased the tensions between different communities, she said, noting that earlier this week Hutu and Tutsi children were fighting in the schools in Jomba, north of Bunagana.

Since the end of last year, violence in Nord-Kivu has prompted more than 370,000 people to flee, and the UN estimates that about 750,000 are displaced in total.

Beautiful Disaster

The San Diego skyline with smoke in the sky. I was told GOD works in mysterious ways.

Some say faith alone can't pull you through the drama of life.

So where do you put your faith and trust in? Men? Good luck with that.

The fire rages while the SoCal Sun shines brightly upon the waves crashing on the beach. A beautiful disaster.

I hope my family and friends stay safe down there while the fires rage on. Be as safe as you can be.

Ale Standard

I heard around the campfire that some of the homies are lowering the beer standard. What the?! Never compromise! Don't start drinking the piss, remember when we were sophomores in high school and we swore that we'd never start drinking the piss ale? C'mon Coors? Naw man. Let this photo be a reminder that when drinking ale with friends, keep the standards high. Friends don't let friends drink crap beer. CHEERS!

Shout Out to the Lavarat Posse

I see these two ladies almost every single day. This is just a shout out to these two. Two of the nicest people that I've ever met. Also, very very intelligent. If you are fourtunate enough to ever come across either of these two ladies remember to say thank you. Because, they keep me sane in this crazy city. They are the "first responders". They always listen. They bake cookies. They like to go to baseball games and basketball games. They like to shop. They like good music. They take care of their family. I appreciate them and everything they do. We've known each other since 2001 and every year that passes our bonds grow stronger. I hope you have people in your life like this, people that you'd do anything for, just because they are good people. I'd take a bullet for either one, that's right, I would. Take away all the material things of the world and what you have left are lives. And these two lives I'd put above my own, that is how much love I got for them. I have been lucky in life to always meet good people and once we become friends, my loyalty for you is there from begining to end. These days realness is hard to come by, everybody is trying to come up on each other. But, if we all take time to honor those that are close to us then we can make our worlds a little better. They may not like this picture, because they are extremely self critical, but this makes me happy to see them smile.
Dedication:
I love you both, thank you for being who you are. You are very special to me and to many other people. You make the world a better place because most of the time you have the right attitude and don't hesitate to act towards the greater good of any cause. You have taught me to cherish time with family and how to appreciate and share, amongst many other things. I hope you know that I care about you and lets continue to grow and do good for each other and everybody else.

TRUTHS and RIGHTS is about trying your best to be a better person, regardless of props, accomplishments and accolades. DO GOOD because it is the right thing to do. PEACE AND LOVE.

Brasil Is Great

Brazil make easy meat of Ecuador (Reuters) Thursday 18 October 2007

Brazil thumped Ecuador 5-0 in a FIFA World Cup qualifier on Wednesday, celebrating their first home match for two years and first at the Maracana stadium since 2000 in style.

Vagner Love gave Brazil a 19th-minute lead just as the 70,000 crowd was getting impatient and the five-times world champions added four goals in a 12-minute spell late in the game.

Kaka struck twice, once with an exquisite curling shot and another with the help of a goalkeeping blunder by Daniel Viteri, and Ronaldinho and Elano also found the net.

The result was rough justice on Ecuador, who controlled the game for nearly one hour and threatened to snatch a point until Brazil's late flourish.

NBA True Hollywood Story

I cannot take this LA Lakers drama. Kobe is pissed. Mitch K is not a good GM. Dr. Buss has no control and no visible plan for improvement. The preseason, has just started and the LakeShow already lost a game to the Warriors by 1, 110-111. Am I just supposed to go through the whole season and deal with this crap? How do you not make moves to get Jermaine O'Neal? Especially because he said he'd be down to ball in LA. I've got a bad feeling about this season already. Now there is the Kobe trade talk. Who can we get for Kobe in all reality? Whatever we get for him will not be equivalent, bottom line. Nobody balls like him.
Best baller in the league period. I'm just sayin', unless Baby Bynum and Odom take their game to the next level every single night...it'll be 82 games just to play 82 games. I mean if the Celtics go from cellar dweller to top contender in one summer, how do the Lakers stay exactly the same if not worse cuz everybody is a year older. (SIGH) It is going to be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG season.

Strange News

Hospital Gives Man Drip-Feed of Vodka
By Associated Press

BRISBANE, Australia - Doctors plugged an Italian tourist into a drip-feed of vodka to save him at a hospital in Australia that ran out of the medicinal alcohol it would normally have used for treatment.

The 24-year-old Italian, who was not further identified, was brought to Mackay Base Hospital in northeastern Queesland state and was diagnosed as having ingested a large quantity of ethylene glycol, a common ingredient of antifreeze that can cause renal failure.

Pure alcohol is often given in treating such cases because it can inhibit the toxic effects of ethylene glycol.

Mackay Base Hospital Dr. Pascal Gelperowicz said the man was given pharmaceutical-grade alcohol when he arrived, but that the hospital's supplies soon ran out.

"We quickly used all the available vials of 100 per cent alcohol and decided the next best way to get alcohol into the man's system was by feeding him spirits through a naso gastric tube," Dr. Gelperowicz said in a statement.

"The patient was drip-fed about three standard drinks an hour for three days in the intensive care unit," he said. "The hospital's administrators were also very understanding when we explained our reasons for buying a case of vodka."

The patient, was believed to have ingested the poison in an attempt at self-harm, made a successful recover. The incident occurred about two months ago, though the hospital just released information on the case.

Iconoclasticly Fantastic

The epitome of the concrete jungle is the Empire State Building. 8,000,000 stories all mingled together to make up one of the fantastic landscapes created by man. When all this is ancient rubble what do you think they'll say about the ruins?

One Photo One Story

Times Square at night
Bright as the day
The music, the money, the hustle
All caught up in a way
The City that never sleeps
I can see why
Sky high
My vision lens is up in the sky
Try to comply
To be fresh is to be an individual
Spiritually rich, but kinda poor up in the physical
My mental is strong
Roar with the will of a Lion
Most definitely
It is head up and eyes open
Your looking for the inspiration
That's why you visit
If you make it here
You can survive in any blizzard
The streets of Now Yours
Ever embedded in my memory
One photo one story
Locked away in mental treasury
New York
Coast to coast
From West to the East
In the middle no relevance
The streets with the beats
I seek peace
Late night crosstown
At 4 in the a.m.
Still loud sound
Get your culture here!
Shouts the paperboy everyday
Midtown streets
Its my muse and not half the way
Between life and death
You see me lifted to the life
I'm giving you love
And never will I hold it back
Pastrami on rye
At the deli on the corner block
Live life to learn lessons
In the end your never stressin'
One photo one story
The beginning and the end
Extra special dedication
To all the true Friends
